Once Upon A Time On Earth

July 24th, 2007 by Timo Vuorensola

Feature-length films are still a rare thing to come across on the Internet, but we Finns tend to have a good grip on that business. Introducing now a Finnish, English-language thriller shot entirely on bluescreen called Once Upon A Time On Earth, made by Tuomas Hautamäki from Oulu.

The full movie is available for free here. There is a article in Finnish in the newspaper Kaleva providing some background.

Way to go, Finland!

Dammit, but these guys are ambitious! It takes balls to make an English-language action thriller using nothing but Finnish amateurs. Sure, the acting (especially the few attempts at character development) is only on a par with, say, Star Wreck, and the bluescreen shots aren’t 100% perfect, but Tuomas hasn’t let that stop him from fulfilling his dream. Way to go; uncle Quentin should be pleased!
