It’s nice they announce such a recognition for Iron Sky.
I just wish they’d have their budget on a more realistic level concerning the actual cost of making modern movies. Efficient financing for major projects would require those figures to have two more zeroes in them.
It’s a good reason for a smile still.

Iron Sky seems to be coming more and more reality.
Good!
What time you´re posting daylies 11? 3 AM?

Isn’t this just support for the pre-production phase, and not for the actual production?
Do you have a chance at a much fatter bag of dough once you are closer to filming and have confirmed the budget, have some financing in place, have selected a distributor and have an estimate of a release date?
Anyways, CONGRATS! You are now officially on the supported projects -list!

Congratulations! So what % of the total budget is that?

Salmar, yes this is mereyl for the pre-production phase, and we’ll be asking for moar money for the actual production l8r this year/beg. of next year - and of course hope to get there as well :) But that’ll be another story.

Trying to make things clear (usually ends up mixing them up);
there is a 50.000 € support for the development of Iron Sky which is granted to Blind Spot Pictures. this money is going to be spend in various different moments to get this film financed (script, teaser/demo, translations, travlling and so on)
Then there is a 40.000 € support for culture export (kulttuurivienti) for Sauna granted to Bronson Club. This money is going to be spend in Cannes for promoting Sauna, which we Bronson Club tries to sell themselves.
These are two different things. But these 2 different things makes a synergy, both are very good news for all of us, because Iron Sky and Sauna but also Wreck A Movie are joining forces to get something done in Cannes. 1 + 1 + 1 is…hmmm wrecking cannes. kippis

Seems like quite big a sum for Bronson Club in comparison to other movies in culture export category. The others are just travelling expenses or costs for making festival copies of the films, mainly between 1000-3000 €, but Bronson got 40 000.
So you could say Sauna and Iron Sky are internationally the most important Finnish films right now…

Well, I definitly hope that both are important, but there is still way to go… Thanks to the support we are able to try some activities, which otherwise would be difficult to do.
We can judge this operation within 1-2 years time. Of course im hoping to have concrete results allready now during Cannes, but that might be too much to expect. In any way I see it as an investment for the future and in a shorter term we will soon see what happens.

Another question about money:
Where does the money come to finance the office and pay the guys working there ? I suppose they are not working for free anymore, and they need money for food and a flat etc. .
Does it come from the Imperial Edition sales ?

We basically do other 3d gigs. Star Wreck really doesn’t help so much anymore…
