Future is growing ever closer – since the year 2000 turned out to be kind of a disappointment I gather that in 2010 we’ll finally have household robots, Iron Sky and flying cars. But while we’re waiting, here’s a look back at the year 2008 for Energia.

The Iron Sky teaser was watched 1,131,240 times (that we know of).

What I found interesting was that only eleven movie trailers made it to the Viral Video Charts (weekly stats published in The Guardian). Part of this is propably explained by the popularity of Apple’s trailer page, as the charts track videos on the big video sharing sites. However, it’s pretty flattering that Iron Sky was one of the few movies that made it.

The others being Cloverfield, The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Twilight, Milk, X-Men: Origins, Dragonball, Quantum of Solace, Terminator: Salvation and the new Harry Potter. Apart from and some emo vampires we’re in a pretty good company there – and the only non-american film.

We uploaded 47 new videos to YouTube. All in all our videos were watched 1,156,093 times. Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning got some 205,000 new viewers from YouTube.

The way YouTube works means that being popular helps new viewers to find us. However there’s one thing where we could do better on YouTube – so go and subscribe to Energia’s channel.

Our websites received about one million visitors. So not everyone who has watched our videos has ever visited our websites. Wreckamovie.com was opened for the general public and has got 30 film projects, one book project and 1304 registered users. The Iron Sky project alone has gotten nearly 900 shots for the tasks we’ve set up. Thanks guys, you’re awesome.

Timo traveled total of 109,003 kilometers – that’s nearly three times around the Earth – producing 9,867 kg of CO2 (according to Dopplr).
