Johanna Sinisalo nominated for Nebula Award!

Iron Sky‘s scriptwriter Johanna Sinisalo has been nominated for the internationally highly respected Nebula Award with her novellette Baby Doll. The Nebula Award is an award given each year by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA), for the best science fiction/fantasy fiction published in the United States during the two previous years.

Way to go, Johanna! Let’s hope we’ll see her again there in 2011, nominated for the best script!

  3. Tianyi: Lasisilmä was even stranger experience to read after working with Johanna in a scriptwriting team. It often is scarily accurate potrayal of how scriptwriting teams work.

    Congrats. Even being nominated is a major achievement.

    Younger I read some of Johanna’s short stories in various SF fanzines. They seemed to have an angsty feminist twist that irked a young stud then. Not in a bad way, but much like Le Guin. Gotta haul ass and get myself to read her more recent work.
