		<description>Hey, Kevan. Thanks for the tip. There are hundreds of thousands of SF novels out there and I have read maybe only about thousand. Still, never heard of Harbinson and Genesis. Took a quick web search, and sounds interesting. Gotta read &#039;em.

Mostly I prefer first encounter, AI speculative, military, and &quot;hard&quot; SF. But looks like the Genesis novels can be regarded as &quot;first encounter&quot; in a way.

Alternate history is mostly boring (YAAAGH! Not ANOTHER Pournelle book!), but if done well, worth the while. And of course, if it has nazis in them, coolness factor goes to eleven. As in Indiana Jones.
