Iron Sky Shoot Day 2: Castlevania

November 19th, 2010 by Timo Vuorensola

The first thing I was able to spit out of my mouth today when I arrived to the set of Iron Sky was “whoah”. The art department had been doing an exceptionally good work in prepping the location we’ll be using for the coming two days, and it looks awesome. The scale was grand, the location (which, by the way, was extremely hard to obtain, but we were finally able to get a permission to use it) worked like never before, and everything was very well in order. Had it not been a surprisingly complicated logistics issue in the morning, we would’ve really rocked the set. Now, we had to do a bit of schedule Tetris to make up with the lost time in the morning, but managed to play it out quite well. I’m eager to see the material, but it did feel pretty darn good. And funny, too.

Here’s a me casting a spell on our 1st Assistant Director, Peter McLennan, with a bunch of cast and crew watching. I’ve been training magic lately. I hope one day I’ll learn to turn Peter into a hamster. That’d be fun, too!

Tomorrow, we will return to the same location, and continue our shootings there. We have quite a tight day coming up, but I’m sure we’ll kick it in the arse, there’s no question about it!

It’s supposed to be the oval office?

I think it will be a great movie and i’m wishing the crew success!

  2. Jaap says:

    Beautiful location!
But why was it so hard to obtain? Due to the Nazi theme? Or aren’t they eager for film crews anyway?

  3. Rob says:

Dunno if it’s me, but I totally missed the link to this film on the star wreck page (that search under google).

I think you ought to add an ‘our latest project’ link IN the menu structure at the top. as you are advertising ‘iron sky’ in the same box as the ‘star wreck’ trailer.

People WILL click on it for the trailer, but then maybe forget about your current project, because the trailer kiss so much ass!

I went looking for the link before realizing.

Maybe their is an old Aristocrat out there with a poor memory and a Nazi fetish? And a shit load of money.

You should ask if ICE T wants to be in it. Every movie album needs a rap these days.
