The first thing I was able to spit out of my mouth today when I arrived to the set of Iron Sky was “whoah”. The art department had been doing an exceptionally good work in prepping the location we’ll be using for the coming two days, and it looks awesome. The scale was grand, the location (which, by the way, was extremely hard to obtain, but we were finally able to get a permission to use it) worked like never before, and everything was very well in order. Had it not been a surprisingly complicated logistics issue in the morning, we would’ve really rocked the set. Now, we had to do a bit of schedule Tetris to make up with the lost time in the morning, but managed to play it out quite well. I’m eager to see the material, but it did feel pretty darn good. And funny, too.
Here’s a me casting a spell on our 1st Assistant Director, Peter McLennan, with a bunch of cast and crew watching. I’ve been training magic lately. I hope one day I’ll learn to turn Peter into a hamster. That’d be fun, too!
Tomorrow, we will return to the same location, and continue our shootings there. We have quite a tight day coming up, but I’m sure we’ll kick it in the arse, there’s no question about it!
