Iron Sky Shoot, Day 20: The Waters of Brisbane

January 13th, 2011 by Timo Vuorensola

I just learned yesterday that we were luckier than we thought for shooting the Monday’s shoot when we shot it, since in just few hours after we left, our unit base was flooded, and as far as I’m aware, the set is now also floating under few meters of water. But no, we haven’t seen the actual floods that much, living mainly on Gold Coast, that’s some 60 kilometers away from Brisbane – but it’s really strange to be working in under 100 kilometers from the place of one of the worst natural catastrophes on Earth at the moment. Even the Finnish press has been concerned about our shoot so close to Brisbane – but so far, there hasn’t been problems that are really threatening the production.

    Hi Timo,
I will be on the Gold Coast from Jan 20 until 24, would love to drop by production if at all possible as an interested director / writer / fan of Iron Sky.
    My IMDB link is http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3767087/
    Best regards
    Adrian.

Usually I don’t read post on blogs, however I wish to say that this write-up very compelled me to try and do so! Your writing taste has been amazed me. Thank you, very great article.

  3. This is the right blog for everyone who hopes to understand this topic. You understand a whole lot its almost tough to argue with you (not that I personally would want to…HaHa). You certainly put a fresh spin on a topic that’s been written about for many years. Excellent stuff, just wonderful!
