Iron Sky Shoot, Day 33: No sleep ’till Wrap…

February 1st, 2011 by Timo Vuorensola

I’ve had extremely hard time sleeping here. No matter when I go to bed, usually around 11 pm, I *always* wake up at three in the morning, thinking about yesterday’s shoot, tomorrow’s shoot, the edit, the pickups we’re still missing and what else still could go wrong… It’s starting to be extremely hard, the heat, the lack of sleep… Although I’m going to miss shooting, I’m just wishing to be able to lay down for a while, sleep the hell out of my brains after the shoot is finally over.

We continued where we left off on Monday in Stage 6 – bouncing back and forth in time – which does require quite a lot of brain power. I was very cranky in the morning, thanks to the lack of sleep, and kept on snapping to people a bit too much… Also, I hate it when the monitors are so far away from the set, having to run up stairs, across tracks to talk to the actors who are probably already in the middle of checks or being lined up for camera positions; it’s a bit messy way to direct, and when I’m very tired, I’m just losing my language, especially now that I’m working in English. I get frustrated searching for right adjectives and/or verbs when trying to describe… and find myself just stuttering something ununderstandable and hoping they get what I mean, sitting behind the monitors fingers crossed.

I sure hope I get some better sleep tonight…

Oh, Timo, I’m so sorry to hear the heat is getting to you!

All the best with the final shooting; I had a ball on the set during my brief visit and will finish my article soon (unfortunately being a journo I’ve now been heads up in cyclone coverage so just a bit frantic – excuses, excuses).

Best of luck getting some shut-eye. I’m sure you’ve done a great job even with the sleep dep. ;)

    Cheers, Natalie.

Hopefully you will feel better in the morning :)

You are doing a tremendous job. Keep up the good work!

    Lots of signs,

    Natalie.

  3. Girl Clumsy: No worries. I have a hunch that people are far more interested in reading about space nazis after the cyclone passes and they’re no longer, say, fearing for their lives and fleeing in panic.

Worrisome things about the cyclone on Dutch Radio…
I wish you all the best and may the cyclone be damned!

  5. Hello Timo and all the others, it can be a bit hard when you want to rest in the Night and it is hot, but after a while you get used to it.It is good for all of you when the work finally is done and you look forward for the finished result.Probably reaching out already for the next Script,I enjoyed very much to be on set, everyone has been so kind ,helpful and friendly, I really think an IRON SKY II would be great, come back than and use me again as SS General.I like to be on Set, but there are are not many Opportunities,I have been in eight Movies so far, but never I got the DVD,or even seen them, but these time I will get Iron-Sky because I now when it will come out.
