Iron Sky Comic #1 Is Out – Download It Now!

October 7th, 2011 by Janos Honkonen

A couple of days ago we published the first issue of the Iron Sky comic, and you guys really liked it – in the first day and a half the comic got over 17 500 readers and many of you chose to pay for it! Thank you!

As is our habit, we decided to give a little bit more for all of you who have supported us: all of you who have paid for the comic, or joined the Iron Sky Sneak Peek earlier, can now download the comic as a pdf or a cbz-file to read on the road with your computer, tablet or smartphone! Just click here and enjoy!

Cbz-files can be read with programs such as ComicBookLover (OS X, iPad, iPhone), ComicRack (Windows), CDisplay (Windows) or Droid Comic Viewer (Android).

If you have no idea what we are talking about, here’s some background information about the comic: the first issue, titled Bad Moon Rising, tells the story of how the Nazis fled the Earth. The coming issues will explore the decades after the WWII, the building of the Moon Station Schwarze Sonne, and the rise of Wolfgang Kortzfleisch (played by Udo Kier in the film) to the Führer of the Moon base.

As a thank you for our fan community we released the first part of the comic for free online, and you can find it here. If you want to support us, you can also pay for the comic and pick your own price – those who pay get also access to Iron Sky Sneak Peek, where you can see how the first five minutes of the film is created. Additionally they can now download the comic as a pdf or a cbz comic book file, and they will get the two other issues of the comic without an extra charge!

The three comics are written by Mikko Rautalahti, who has earlier worked on the Xbox 360 game Alan Wake, and the film Imaginaerum. The first issue is illustrated by Gerry Kissell, whose work includes Codeword: Geronimo, Children of the Grave, The A-Team: War Stories and Army of Two.

Once again all of this is published without DRM and all the money will go to making Iron Sky the best film we possibly can!

A question. Do you have two different covers for the issue #1? Because the one you showed us previously in Sneak Peek was different.

  2. Pete says:

Any chance of getting a printed to paper version of it to propaganda store? It would be a nice collectible item!
Perhaps as numbered and limited print?

  3. luxmesa says:

you should release all 3 comics as one collected graphic novel

Er, no offense, dudes. But this new cover is absolutely horrible and tacky. Dunno, maybe it is a sort of a joke on fifties US trash comics? There is even a seal reminescent of the ridiculous Comics Code Authority.

  5. evilbong says:

Hell I think the new cover is pretty good actually! The way I see it it’s intenially tacky. Kind of like a combination of 80′s DC comics and well… korkkari. :D Now every non-finnish (and propably the younger finns too) are going “what the hell is korkkari?!”. :)

Hey, dude. I am 41 and still haunt the R-kioskis every month for Korkkari comics. Commando to the British. Nothing like relaxing in the bed with a glass of wine and some snacks with Korkkari. Aargh, himmel!

I can accept the cover as an intentional joke.
