The Iron Sky team in Finland is gearing up and getting ready to meet the future productions, and now, after a short hiatus, the Director’s Diaries are back, as well as the Iron Sky Signal. To those who don’t know what we are talking about, here’s a quick explanation:
DIRECTOR’S DIARY is a video blog of director Timo Vuorensola (that’s me), and the idea is to allow a window into the world of a more-or-less first time film director making his way through the sometimes muddy, sometimes neat process of film production. We’ve been doing Director’s Diaries, and before that Energia Dailies ever since 2008 I think, and they’ve always been great fun to make, and I’ve had a lot of positive feedback from people about them as well. The idea is to try to keep the production values as low as possible, so the blogging is easy, fast and extremely nimble. You can find all of the Director’s Diaries from here, and here’s the latest episode!
We’ve always used music from the fanbase, and since Director’s Diary is a thing I do on my own and basically just for fun, we’ve accustomed not to pay for the music, but we’ve always been trying to link the musicians as widely as possible to our couple of million followers over the Internet. This time, the music for this episode of Director’s Diaries is by an electronic musician Maurice Oeser from Berlin. More of his music here!
We are obviously developing Director’s Diaries as well, but I’d loved to hear your thoughts on how to make them better?
The bigger “juggernaut” of YouTube information content on our behalf is IRON SKY SIGNAL, a news program that’s hosted by me, and contains news, interviews from the people working in one way or another on Iron Sky or stuff around it. Signal is partially dedicated to inform you guys on what we are doing in a nicely wrapped format. We try to keep Signals about 5 minutes long, and try to push them out every two weeks or so. You can find all Iron Sky Signals here, and here’s the latest episode, episode nr. 22, which came out just very recently!
Again, most of all we’d loved to hear your thoughts on how to improve Signal as well!
The reason we’re pushing these out is because we are getting ready to start working on the next production, and will be announcing more about that very shortly here! So, stay tuned, troopers, and march on!
